We Build Websites for People Who Build Things.
Brandor is a web design agency in Bournemouth, Dorset, built from the ground up for one audience: tradespeople and local businesses who need a website that actually works.
Hi, I'm Dominic
I run Brandor. There's no team behind the scenes, no junior designers, no offshore developers, just me, hand-coding every site myself from my desk in Bournemouth. But before any of that, I was a dryliner. I've spent the last ten years on tools, on sites, in vans, working alongside plasterers, builders, sparkies, plumbers. The lot.
And here's what I noticed in those ten years: there's a real stigma around websites and online marketing in the trades. Most lads I worked with thought the whole thing was a con. Spend hundreds on a website, get nothing back, write it off as a waste of money. Marketing? Luck of the draw. SEO? Snake oil. Just keep the phone ringing through word of mouth and hope it doesn't dry up.
The problem is that's not how it works. There's an actual science to getting found on Google, and once I started learning it properly, I realised how much of a head start it gives you. The lads relying on luck and referrals were leaving money on the table every single day, not because their work was bad, but because nobody could find them. Meanwhile, competitors who weren't half as good were taking the jobs because they showed up first.
That's why Brandor exists. I know the trades because I've been in them. I know what it's like to graft all day and then try to figure out a quote at 10pm. I know why most tradespeople don't trust web designers, because most web designers have never set foot on a building site and have no idea how the work actually comes in. I'm building the websites I wish my mates had ten years ago. Hand-coded, fast, built to rank locally, and priced so a sole trader can actually afford one. No subscriptions, no jargon, no nonsense. You pay once, you own it, and it works.
Why Brandor Exists
Most web designers build for other web designers. They obsess over animations, frameworks, and design trends that win awards but don't win customers. Brandor was founded with a different goal: build websites that get tradespeople more work.
I saw the same problem everywhere. Brilliant tradespeople doing excellent work, losing jobs to competitors with better websites. Plumbers, plasterers, builders, electricians. People whose work speaks for itself, but whose online presence was letting them down. A mate's five-year-old website. A Wix page they set up on a Sunday afternoon. Or nothing at all.
That's the gap I fill. Hand-coded websites designed specifically for trade businesses. The kind of site that makes a homeowner pick up the phone instead of scrolling past.
Based in Bournemouth. Working Nationwide.
Brandor is based in Bournemouth, Dorset. We work with trade businesses across the south coast (Poole, Christchurch, Ferndown, Wimborne, Dorchester) and across the UK. Whether you're a sole trader just getting started or a growing business with a team, if you do good work and want a website that reflects it, we want to hear from you.
Every project starts with a conversation. No forms with 47 fields. No automated quote generators. You talk to us directly, we understand your business, and we build something that actually fits. If it's not right, we change it. That's how it should work.
Hand-Coded, Not Templated
Every line of code written for your business. No bloated frameworks, no page builders, no generic themes. Your site loads fast because there's nothing unnecessary in it.
Built to Rank Locally
Local SEO is baked into every page from day one. Google Business Profile setup, schema markup, optimised titles and descriptions. So you show up where your customers are searching.
No Monthly Lock-In
You pay once and the website is yours. No subscriptions, no plugin fees, no "your site will disappear if you stop paying" nonsense. We build it, you own it.
Trades-First Approach
We don't build for restaurants, SaaS companies, and wedding photographers on the side. We specialise in trade businesses. That means we understand what converts in your market.
